One of the reason that makes me keep visiting this historical city, is the colourful Street of Jalan Hang Jebat, or a more popular/recognisable name - Jonker Street.
This street is full of food, antique goods, old architectures, cultural stuffs, fashions, etc...
On Friday and Saturday Night, the street will be closed, and transformed into a weekly carnival.
There isn't any specific best time to visit, however, I'll recommend 2 weeks before Chinese New Year, or during the Christmas & New Year Eve week. Because during these 2 festive seasons, the streets will put up with extra lights and decorations
It's a definitely an excellent place to hang out and celebrate Count Down!
I took a series of photos and I classified them into various colour themes. And here they are:
I was in Melaka the last few days before Year 2007 ended. This is like the Nth time of Wildchild & I visiting Melaka. Both of us just love this old city.
The place is just so authentic, historical, arty, cultural, colourful, friendly, and lotsa food!
Here are some glimpse of the city in different time...
It's the most wonderful time of the year again! ^0^
I have a Christmas Story to tell... I inherited a mini Christmas Tree, when my 1 of my sister is going back home to KK years ago. I put it up every year, light up the lights, and play Christmas Songs.
I used to buy 1 ornament each year for the tree too, to mark 1 year celebrating Christmas away from home. However, I stopped doing that, 'cos I noticed I'll have problem putting all of them on my desk later on, If I continue doing that. LOL~ >ip
This is the 10th time I put it up... that's how long I've left home. T.T
Anyway, my mini Christmas Tree, and it wishes everyone - "a Wonderful 2007 Christmas & a Blessed New Year 2008"
^0^
by the way, I've done up a few Christmas Card this year. Feel free to download and use it!
[note]: It's in PDF format, you can print out fall it into half as a card. ^0^
Here by I would like to wish everyone a Wonderful 2007 Christmas & a Blessed New Year 2008.

WARNING! SPOILER AHEAD!!! My thoughts 我的感言: • Very nice cinematography; • excellent mood - cool colour scheme, black vs white, dark vs bright; • The War scenes are magnificent (i.e. hollywood standard); • the setup and props are nicely done; • I didn't really like the editing of the story, the flow isn't smooth. I noticed most of the Chinese Films' have editing flaws; • Story wise not bad. This is actually a remake of a 1973 movie - 《刺馬》, based on a historical event Taiping Rebellion (see below, find out more), that illustrated the corrupted government during the late Qing Dynasty, and the differences of soldiesr & politicians, leaders & followers, heroes & crooks; • Acting wise, nothing great for Andy Lau (just like his performance in his other movie), however Jet Li & Takeshi have great improvement in their acting skills.
Because it managed to take me to a tour to "how Taiping Rebellion" were like. I've studied that in history class back in school before. If Taiping Rebellion won, it'll certainly change the history event of China, as well as the world.
This is a new restaurant at 1Utama New Wing (1 floor below Shogun), serving Taiwanese Style Shabu-shabu.
Each table is installed with electric hot plate, where you cook your food with a pot. There's a power level attached to the table side, where you control the heat level.
You have a choice to order set, or a la carte (individual dish). There are few types of soup base, we had Pork Set Special and Japanese Miso Soup. Here're some of the food we tried, and we liked all of them.
Besides that, I had 2 bowls of rice. For some reason, not sure whether is the way they cook the rice or they used premium rice, the rice really taste good, smells good and feel good too.
By default, the drinks are freeflow. You get 3 choices - Nestle's Nestea: Ice Lemon Tea, Ice Peach Tea, and Orang Juice. If those are not your choices of beverages, you can order Premium Chinese Tea, and some other soft drinks.
The Soup is a bit tasteless for our taste, or it's probably suppose to be like that, I'm not sure. But don't worry, 'cos the food goes well with the variety choices of sauces available atthe Sauce Counter.
I'll definitely going back again. Do check this place out!
When to visit Wildchild's Grandma on Sunday, with the sis - Ellen & bro-in-law - Jass.
While grandma and the cousin was preparing lunch for us, Jass and I decided to visit the local shops, to check out some fishing equipments. Fishing isn't really my kind of hobby, so I went next store to get ice-cream, and I saw a toy gun at the toy rack.
I'm a toygun freak, just love toy weapons since little. The gun looked nice, with almost 1:1 scale, so I bought it.
Went back to Grandma's place, only discovered it's a BB Gun. Jass was quite curious, so was Wildchild, so I opened the plastic bag for everyone to see.
Jass tried a few shots at the pillow, and on his palm, he said: "not painful 1"...
After lunch, we head back to KL. Upon reaching home, as usual I'll take picture of my new toy and intend to blog about it later. So I took a couple of shots.
I was curious, what's the damage of the shots like, so that I can judge, whether it can be played by small kids or not. So I tried 1 shot on my palm...
*BAK!*
...immediately, I put the gun away, on the top shelf of the cabinet where kids are not easy to reach.

Synopsis: - taken from Golden Screen Cinema Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable…and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City…and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by “the Infected”—victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path.
For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville’s every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind’s last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time.

WARNING! SPOILER AHEAD!!! My thoughts 我的感言: Over all, nice story+music+cinematography+development+set up... until the ending. A bit too "miracle"...
besides that, the CG for those "dark seeker" (mutated human) quite badly done for my taste. I was told the 1971's verion - The Omega Man has a better make up using live actors.
Will Smith did a good job soloing the movie (he's the last human in the world, remember? ^_^"). A few emotional scenes caught me, like the part Sam died, and another part when he was preaching on Bob Marley's legacy.
however, I did enjoy the movie. It worthed 4/5 stars for me.
^0^
Facts I managed to get a free pass to "premier screening" tonight from a friend - .
Because it's a "premier screening" 2 days before the actual release, the lucky patrons were required to go through strict security check by the organisers and movie distributor.
Rules printed on sight are: 01) No electronic devices are allow to bring into to the screening hall, i.e. mobile phones (with or without camera features), laptops, music portalbe players, handheld gaming devices, etc...); 02) during the screening, there will be security personnels patroling & monitoring the movie patrons during the show for any illegal recording; 03)...; 04)...;
You were also constantly reminded on Rule #01 from a PA system, that you also need to deposit all your electronic gadgets at the security booth. They'll put your items in a plastic bag, stapled, and you'll be given a number tag to the bag. And you'll suppose to claim it after the screening with the number.
There were 2-tier security check upon entering the screening hall: 1st tier - 1 guy will scan your body with a portable scanner; 2nd tier - upon clearence from 1st tier, they'll check your bags/pouch/shopping bags, etc...
After the show finish, there's already a booth with multiple lanes, right outside the exit. Lanes were divided according to number range, e.g. lane 1 - 0001 - 500, lane 2 - 501 -1000, etc... to speed up the process and keeping the crowd in order.
It's a well organised security protocol, not forget to mention the security personnels were well-trained and polite.
Waited this for a week plus... finally it arrives.
I got 3 duplicates... the Goron Father and son. T_T
Now waiting for other LYN Forumers, hopefully they don't share the same fate like me, if they do, I pray that they got different duplicates from me, so we can trade!
There's rumour saying, a new PWNING donut shop is in town, a very very long "S" que always sighted at there outlets, it's - J.Co Donuts & Coffee. The latest Indonesia donuts chain store in Malaysia.
After dinner on Friday night, LµÇkÿ $†àŘ, Wildchild and myself went jalan-jalan at New Wing, Sunway Pyramid. And we witnessed the "rumoured" que... and it wasn't rumour, it's real. Being a typical Malaysian, we went and join the wagon.
Nice interior setup, interesting operations for a donut shop (not that I'm an expert in donutology). I was snapping non-stop til 1 sales attendant stopped me.
Anyway, they offer various flavoured of donuts, we bought 6, but managed only to try 3, 'cos we were to greedy & full!!!
I managed to photographed these extras, thanks to a friend - Ling., who bought a dozen for her family on another day.
Courtesy Donuts from Ling.
Managed to find a spot for ourselves, sit down, we were kinda puzzle, how to start/eat, 'cos these donuts are covered with toppings... and the following are the experience of our FIRST ENCOUNTER...
Facts: For some reasons, all my friends that have tried J.Co, we all agreed & shared a common experience... all of us encountered the same feeling from the first bite - IT'S LOVE AT FIRST BITE!
I don't know about others, perhaps you can try and share your experience with others too...
date: 08 - 09 December 2007; time: 9am - 9pm; venue: Asia City Complex;

I have an habit of visiting various shopping mall during Christmas month, to see the effort of each mall put in to live up the place. For this year... I'm pretty impressed with 1Utama New Wing.
It's so fun+magical to me!
^0^
This was the 1st Saturday of December, and look at the mood+atmosphere at 1Utama.
I must say, the management of 1Utama had really put in lotsa effort. Check out all the ornaments on each Tree. And there were dozens of Christmas trees. I really salute the team behind all this, not to mention those staffs/hired workers to put up all these.
"Your Effort are Greatly Appreciated! Your work made everyone smile+happy"
/salute /applause
On our way back, I discovered these 4 fellas!
I heard The Curve has very nice set up too, I'll pay them a visit soon.
Product Info 產品资料 Artist(s) 歌手名稱: Jay Chou 周杰倫; Album 专辑名称: On The Run 我很忙; Release Date 出版日期: 23/11/2007; Language 語言: Mandarin 華語; Publisher 出品商: Sony BMG, JVR Music International Ltd;
Taken from 取之於 YesAsia.com Taiwan's prince of pop, Jay Chou, is in the middle of staging his third world tour. It is scheduled to start in Taipei next month and will eventually take him to venues all over the globe. Coinciding with this gigantic live event is the release of his latest album which features the new principal song "Cowboy On The Run". Composed by Jay and penned by Huang Jun Lang, the song drifts away from the usual mainstream sounds and carries a touch of old-time rural America. Still persisting with his own unique music style, Jay is all set to unfold his latest melodies.
Track Listing CD 01. 牛仔很忙 Cowboy On The Run (Niu Zai Hen Mang) 02. 彩虹 Rainbow (Cai Hong) 03. 青花瓷 Blue Vase (Qing Hua Ci) 04. 陽光宅男 Sunshine Homeboy (Yang Guang Zhai Nan) 05. 蒲公英的約定 Dandelion's Promise (Pu Gong Ying De Yue Ding) 06. 無雙 Unparalleled (Wu Shuang) 07. 我不配 I'm Not Worthy (Wo Bu Pei) 08. 扯 Pull/Ripping (Che) 09. 甜甜的 Sweetness (Tian Tian De) 10. 最長的電影 The Longest Movie (Zui Chang De Dian Ying)
DVD 01. Cowboy On The Run (Niu Zai Hen Mang) MV 02. 我不配 I'm Not Worthy (Wo Bu Pei)
My Thoughts This is the 8th Jay Chou album. Generally, you'll still find his signature Chinese R&B+Rap Style, a little bit of Rock, a few tracks' were actually melodies taken from the soundtrack - Secret, which are nice melodies, and introducing a new style from him - Western Country Style (which turn off lotsa fans). LOL~
It's the first track actually - 牛仔很忙 Cowboy On The Run(Niu Zai Hen Mang), that created a mixed reviews & feelings from both the fans and non-fans. Most of them find it hard to accept such experimental style from Jay Chou.
Personally I find the track, funny+cute+fun! In fact, that's one of the reason that got me into getting this album... for my girlfriend - Wildchild (be warn!!! She's big fan of Jay Chou... watch your comments/remarks about Jay Chou, when she's around).
-_-!!
I have a couple of tracks I really like: 牛仔很忙 Cowboy On The Run (Niu Zai Hen Mang), I'm Not Worthy (Wo Bu Pei), 扯 Pull/Ripping (Che), 甜甜的 Sweetness (Tian Tian De), & 最長的電影 The Longest Movie (Zui Chang De Dian Ying)... which are the entire album.
Facts I used to dislike Jay Chou's works, I have no idea what he's singing is all about (even though I find his lyrics are interesting), especially his acting. However, I changed my view after, experiencing his work from his 7th album - Still Fantasy 依然范特西.
I was impressed with the particular track 千里之外 Faraway (Qiān Lǐ Zhī Wài), duet with veteran Fei Yu-Ching. It was an unique collaborations, between old school way of singing+modern Chinese R&B. Not to mention, great music arrangement, and excellent film+cinematography on the MVs.
Then came the movie - Secret, a movie I was so reluctant to watch, due to his acting in previous movies, but was dragged by the number one fan, and so I went.
And again, he stunned+impressed me with more talents, and from then, I decided to become a Jay Chou Fan.
Product Info 產品资料 Artist(s) 歌手名稱: F.I.R. 飛兒樂團; Album 专辑名称: Love. Diva 愛. 歌姬; Release Date 出版日期: 03/10/2007; Language 語言: Mandarin 華語; Publisher 出品商: Warner Music 華納國際音樂股份有限公司;
from 取之於 YesAsia.com F.I.R.'s fourth music experiment.
It's been over a year since the trio consisting of vocalist Faye, producer/keyboardist/leader Ian, and guitarist Real released their last major CD, Flight Tribe. F.I.R.'s latest full-length album revolves around the theme of eternal love that expands even to the farthest reaches of the universe. The album features the popular new track "New Moon Bay", which comes with a traditional Chinese touch. Music lovers should also be happy about the band's upcoming tour, scheduled to kick off at the Taipei Arena on October 20. In accordance to their album's love and universe concept, Faye will dress up as Princess Leia, Real as Luke Skywalker, and Ian as Darth Vader for their concert look. Before plunging into all the Star Wars concert fun with F.I.R., fans can check out their new material on Love Diva.
My Thoughts I was so disappointed with the 2nd and 3rd albums, til I was so sceptical to get this. I was waiting for someone that share the similar taste with me to try out first (and I'm glad it was you McB!!! LOL~).
McB managed to pursade me that is a nice album to get. He even took the initiative taking me to Neway and sing to me. Thank goodness, I wasn't paying attention to him, else he would have kill another F.I.R. album for me (LOL~). With the nice MV+Music+Song+Lyrics, I'm convinced to get it the following day.
And I personally like the two English tracks, which are jazzy with a little of blue tunes. I strongly believe they can go to that direction, as Fay really got nice voice for jazz (personal preferences).
Product Info 產品资料 Artist(s) 歌手名稱: Tsai Chin 蔡琴; Album 专辑名称: Concert Hall - Golden Voice 2007 金聲演奏廳; Release Date 出版日期: 30/10/2007; Language 語言: Mandarin 華語; Publisher 出品商: Universal Music 環球唱片;
from 取之於 YesAsia.com Veteran Taiwanese singer Tsai Chin started her music career 37 years ago as a folk singer. Earning much praise for her unique silky voice, Tsai also became popular for her performance in musicals later in her career. In the recent years, she has become increasingly popular as a concert performer, singing at sold-out venues in Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and even the US. Concert Hall - Golden Voice 2007 was produced by Peter Kam, who won a Silver Bear at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival for the Isabella film score, and Chiu Tsang Hei who is especially well known as a concert producer for stars like Sally Yip, Kelly Chen, and Jacky Cheung. Music lovers can look forward to Tsai's renditions of such popular songs as Jacky Cheung's "Farewell Kiss" (Track 7), Teresa Teng's "Supposing I Was Real" (Track 9), and Faith Yang's "Give Me Your Blessings" (Track 2) in this stellar concert hall audiophile album.
This edition comes with a DVD featuring ten music videos and a 30-minute making of documentary.
My Thoughts Finally, Tsai Chin released a new album, featuring all the Classic Hits in the 70s - 90s, by various artists, i.e. Jacky Cheung, Sam Hui, etc...
Her album is made for win!!! LOL~ seriously! I believe Tsai Chin has the most album being mastered/digitally re-mastered into DSD format.
Normally, I listened to her songs with Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones in the middle of the night, where no other noise polutions. You'll need to enjoy this in a Hi-Fi sound proof audio room, with super Hi-Fi system, to get the best out of it. Her voice is really God Made.
When Hartz first opened at Sunway Pyramid, me and my college mates used to storm the place once a week. We were actually sort of "black-listed" by the store, as we really cleaned up the place.
LOL~ But we got sicked and tired of the food later, and I've stopped going there for years, until recently we had our DS Gathering there... and it's back in the picture.
It used to be located above the ice skating ring. Currently moved to LG, near the new phase, with new and nice interior set up.
There are a few rules: 01) You pay first - around RM19++; 02) Each customer is limited to 2 hours stay;
Upon paying, you'll be given a piece of regulations, printed with all the house rules.
My Thoughts To be honest, I find the food just OK only, however, it easily PWN any fast food chain out there, any time, who claim themselves to be Chicken experts. More over, with RM19++, you get to "all you can eat" Buffet.
November 2007 Time : 1100hrs - 1700hrs; Date : Saturday, 24th November 2007; Battleground :Hartz Chicken Buffet, Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway; Status:Great Success!!!;
Attendance 01) andy_lhc; 02) Corez; 03) Pr1me_Minister; 04) Hing (andy's colleague); 05) hamtarox; 06) kelvint83; 07) penman; 08) sihumchai; 09) sihummoi; 10) why_79 (appearring to most for the 1st time);
Games Played DS • Mario Kart DS; • Mario Party DS; • Contra 4 DS;
Arcade • Mario Kart GP Arcade; • Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ; • House of Dead 2 & 3;
My Thoughts Another successful gathering! We all had fun eatinig and gaming.
We had fun at the arcade too, especially playing Hyper: Bishi Bashi Champ. Good news!!! The price per game for Mario Kart GP Arcade has reduced from 2 Tokens to 1 Token now. However, I was quite disappointed with the arcade's maintenance... it's so typical for MY Arcade operator to offer faulty gaming machines to customers. Next time before you insert any tokens/coins, please check the conditions (at least the physcial parts), as we got "conned" for playing House of Dead 2 & 3, as both machines came with spoiled guns.
There are lots of motorists, like to park their car around our office area, just to save up monthly parking fees. Therefore, they'll come as early as possible, leave their cars around office, and walk 300-500m to work, or get a lift from colleagues or friends.
This is rather selfish and inconsiderate, as they are taking up parking spaces which belong to us. We have problems finding parking everyday, not to mention talents/clients that come to us daily.
By leaving their car behind, make them an easy target for car theft. And this are is a hot spots for that: smash car windows, car stereos, cars, and recently trend - 0 wheels!
This happened 2 hours ago. 1 passer-by witnessed and kind enough to inform us, thinking it's 1 of our colleagues' car. Fortunately, it isn't. Unfortunately, it happened again, 2nd victim since last week.
And the best part was, there's a police road block 200M from the crime scene.
-_-"
- - - - - - - To Car owner above:
the witness mentioned 2 Indians came with a white car (witness didn't manage to describe what model) - JDP 5252 (again... it happened so fast, the witness not sure it's JBP or JDP). However, we have lodged a police report.
ALL THE BEST... and please don't leave your or your colleagues cars here.
Beard Papa's has been around at Jusco Supermarket, 1Utama (old wing). I just never border to give it a try, until yesterday. And it was a Love at First Bite experience!!!
I personally never like cream puff, because normally it's either the cream is not fresh, yucky and the puff is softed.
The reason I keep visiting Jeong Hin, because of this ultimate noodle stall - The Kon Lao Mian Stall(aka dry noodle in Hakka dialect).
-_-"
It doesn't have name, we've been referring it as "矮仔面"(Shorty Noodle) all these years.
Anyway, the stall operator isn't short (obviously... -_-")...
"Shorty" is actually refering to the shop owner by the townfolks. The stall owner is actually from Sibu, Sarawak. But he has been selling kon lao mian at Jeong Hin for 30 over years.
@_@"
A long time tenant indeed, and I've been a proud loyal customer too, for 29 years!
^0^
Anyway, check out the popular - "Kon Lao Mian".
The noodle is homemade (not sure by him personally tho'), mixed with onion oil, sprinkle of deep fried red onions, served with Char Sao (BBQ Pork), Sao Nyuk (Roast Pork), and Sabah Famous - Chun Ghean (Spring Roll).
Most people are there for the noodle, however, I prefered the "Mi Foon" (aka Rice Noodle). Because I'm more of a "Mi Foon" person than a "Mian" person.
To me, this is a legendary food!!! Period.
Just by looking at the picture, I'm drooling & starving...
Inanam is an industrial area, a small town not very far from the City. It's currently one of the busiest satelite town in KK. I never stay here, however, Inanam has always been part of my childhood. Because this is the place my great grantparents first set foot, when they came from China.
My home church - BCCM Inanam, is here too. I used to visit this town every Sunday, for 20 over years. I never realise that Inanam, meant so much to me, until I left home for studies.
I can remember most of the old shops here, particularly this shop - Jeong Hin.
Jeong Hin is one of those small town kopitiam, where you sit back and enjoy your kopi, freshly steamed bao, while reading newspaper, and social with other folks at the same time.
I used to have breakfast here, almost every Sunday, before I go to Church. It was at the "new" old shops, then they shifted to the new shops many, many years back.
The shop owns by a tiny little old man, that married a very fierceful wife. When I was a kid, I always scared of her, but she's actually a kind lady, when she's not bossing around.
Jeong Hin is famous for their home made - Bread, Pastries, and Baos (Chinese Hamburgers!!!). Check out this pork Bao, or also known as - Zhu Nyuk Bao in Hakka.
A little story... The tiny old man is probably one of the most hard working person you've ever met. You always find him, either busy making drinks for the customers at the back of the shop, preparing ingredient for the Baos, or doing some cleaning.
Over the years, he has passed on his leet skills in baking bread & baos to his son and son-in-law. The son-in-law was working side by side with the master for quite a number of years. He showed great passion in doing it, worked hard hopefully to master the skill one day. In fact, most customers find he's better than the master himself later.
A few trips back, my parents told me, the son-in-law had started his own business. Rumours has it that the son got jealous with him... some family disagreements, and he decided to leave and move on.
I no longer see the tiny little old man at the shop either, I'm wondering what happen to him? Hope he's healthy & strong.
This is my proud collections, as these are really part of my childhood!!! I have lost some of the items over the years, as many kids had shared the joy of these little fellas.
There are still more, I didn't manage to shoot them: 01) all the cardboards came with the action figures; 02) diecast: landspeeder - where Luke & C3PO were on it (can't seem to locate it... T_T); 03) Millenium Falcon (Scale model kit) - belongs to my sis's fren in Uni. He didn't want it any more, when he completed his studies.

My thoughts 我的感言: This film was directed by 3 of the best+legendary Film Makers in HK, and written by some of the HK ace movie writers - 半閒、耿啓文、鍾曉陽、游乃海、歐健兒、葉天成. The story is about the ugly side of modern society, money talks! It has a hillariouus+dark and unexpected story development. I enjoyed it. One of my favourite HK Dark Comedy!
My Thoughts For a real RE:UC Wii experience, Wii Zapper is a necessary.
The game actually comes with 2 editions. 01) Game ONLY edition; or 02) Game bundle with ZAPPER;
Obviously price differs too.
To get the Wii Zapper alone, you can try this Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training Currently available at Play-Asia.com at US$ 34.90 (~117.74 MYR), which comes with a game - Link's Crossbow Training.
Another game that comes with Zapper is Ghost Squad (w/ Wii Zapper, Jap) which cost US$ 59.90 (~202.09 MYR) at Play-Asia.com.
