Beard Papa's

Beard Papa's has been around at Jusco Supermarket, 1Utama (old wing). I just never border to give it a try, until yesterday. And it was a Love at First Bite experience!!!

I personally never like cream puff, because normally it's either the cream is not fresh, yucky and the puff is softed.

However, Beard Papa's is crispy & crunchy!

There are 2 flavours - Chocolate and Vanilla. Wildchild and I actually prefered the chocolate flavoured!

Besides cream puff, Chocolate Fondant is available too! We'll try out that next time.

Nihon Kai Japanese Restaurant 日本海

Sammie suggested this place to me a few weeks back, and since dylan was in town, we went to check out last nite. It was last minute, therefore didn't manage to ask everyone. Gomen nasai (I blame dylan).

Anyway, the place has a normal Japanese Restaurant set up, nothing fancy (who cares?), however the food is GREAT!

Nihon Kai Japanese Restaurant 日本海

Very kind of enjee, she managed to call up and get a room for us ('cos she very free nowadays! >_<).

The Gang

Our order (6 of us...)

My ultimate Katsu Kari Raisu

Besides the Katsu Chicken, there were stewed beef in the Kari too. Nice and tender.

My thoughts
OMAIYOOOOOO!!!

NICE. REASONABLE. Authentic. Go check it out~lah!

Facts
I took 1 of their business card before I left, and I discovered this:

can it be...? LOL~

How to get there...
If you are coming from Mid-Valley/PJ direction towards Old Klang Road, once you have entered Old Klang Road, keep LEFT. Then try to look out for small road/junction between Michelin Tyre Shop (a row of shop houses) and Shell Petrol Station. Turn in and you can see Nihon Kai Japanese Restaurant 日本海.

Or you can refer to this map.

Rakuzen 樂膳 @ Hartamas

This is a Japanese Fancy restaurant. The environment is superb, nice place to chill out. The whoole restaurants are partitionedd in cubicle form. They have:
• small cubicle - for couples;
• medium cubicle - 4-6 ppl;
• larger cubicle - 8-10 ppl;

Rakuzen 樂膳

there are lots of "hidden doors"

I didn't really get to explore the place, 'cos I afraid that I might disturb other guests. Anyway, here's how our seat looked like:

Our seatings

a platform (i.e. table) is attached to 1 corner and leaves a L-shape seating area.

Table Set up

WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP ON THE WALL!!!

My thoughts:
Nothing great about the food, and it's a bit over priced. However, it's a nice place for a guy to take his girlfriend/wife, for a nice date, anniversary or birthday dinner. For business pleasure, you can consider bringing your clients too.

Here's what we ordered:
C Salmon Roll

Yakiniku Zen

Wasabi & Friend

Facts
While we were here that night, we noticed there were lots of reservations made earlier, and there were some ques at the entrance. Therefore, it's better you call up for a reservation, before you come.

Omitsu Koshi 三武@ Damansara Jaya

Everytime I dine at Omitsu Koshi, I always imagined myself actually dinning at one of the restaurant in Kyoto. I have not been to Japan at all, and yet this shop just gives me that fantasy. LOL~

I wish I can go to Japan once in my life time!

^0^

My thoughts:
I like this place. It's one of my favourite Japanese Restaurant that I frequently visit. The environment, the set up, the people working here, the food... they are just perfect the way they are for me. This is also one of the few Japanese Restaurants, where you get to order Kari Raisu (Japanese Curry Rice). This is consider pretty rare in KL/PJ.

We had this for lunch over the weekend:

Dish: Katsu Curry Set
Price: RM 23.00
I'll just go crazy for this!!! ^0^ OMAIYO!!!

Dish: Tempura Sushi Ramen Set
Price: RM 20.00

Cawan Mushi

Ocha

our bill - RM49.45

Sushi Tomo 壽司•友 @ SS2

Sushi Tomo had gain some recognition since it started business a while back.

The owner is a Korean, however, I think the wife is a Japanese. Very unique duo (if you know what I mean)! ^0^

The Environment
Check out the setup for Sushi Tomo. I find it cool!

friendly customer

really cool customer

My thoughs:
We enjoy the nice environment here. We like the food, and happy with the price. And tonight we had:

green tea with ice

soy sauce

cawan mushi

Fresh Raw Salmon hand roll

Beef Bulgogi

Japanese Garlic Fried Rice

Miso Soup, comes with the Fried Rice

Spider Maki

& this is our total bill, reasonable right?

Facts:
I believed Sushi Tomo is the 1st Sushi restaurant, introduced "touch-screen" menu in Klang Valley... pretty cool!

digital menu - with Touch Screen features

They are open for lunch too.

Set Lunch Promo.

According to my buddy - Seth.Frost, many of his gal frens, like his GF and my GF... likes to go Sushi Tomo, besides the nice Sushi there... another reason is to check out this chef - a young good looking lad (-_-"), with talented skills in japanese cuisine. We believed he's the owner's son (but again we could be wrong).

To be honest, I stopped going there for awhile, as the last visit, he wasn't there, and the food quality dropped. We thought that's it. However, recently Seth.Frost went, and ensured us that the food is still nice. Perhaps the "hensumu"* chef wasn't around. hehehehehe~
