Restoran Sun Yen 新园茶餐室@ Section 17

People refer Restoran Sun Yen 新园茶餐室 as "the shop that serves game meat 野味 at Section 17", i.e. wildboar, deer, etc. AS there's a stall does serve such dishes.

It's been awhile since we came here for lunch, because we don't really fancy game meat 野味. However, we were there last week, because we really ran out of ideas where to have lunch. LOL~ There are other stalls too.

Our food

Hokkian Style Fried Kuay Teow (using Charcoal flame)

Believe it or not. Food that is cooked on charcoal/wood fire taste better. This dish is awesome! Perhaps like the Chinese old believes, cooked food must be blessed by good flame.

Curry Noodle

This curry noodle is quite happening. However, I ordered, as I'm more a dry meehoon:
Dry Mee Hoon with Curry Gravy

Kopi Ping (Ice Coffee)

I don't drink coffee, therefore, I can't comment much about this drink. However, I was told, the Kopi Ping is one of the famous drink here.

Facts
Besides the mentioned, there's a famous Bah Kut Teh stall at Restoran Sun Yen 新园茶餐室 too. I'll blog about that next time.

BEST!!! Pan Mee @ Lucky Garden

When I was staying in Bangsar a few years ago, this is one of my regular spot for breakfast and lunch - Kedai Kopi dan Makanan Chun Heong 全香茶餐室

Here's a few recommended stalls, you can check out:
01) Pan Mee; (my favourite!!!)
02) Pork Noodle;
03) Wan Tan Mee;
04) Duck Noodle;
05) Mixed Pork Porridge;

Our order
Pan Mee

You can order, thin, thick or peel versions of the noodles. Then to have it soup or dry.

My Thoughts
This is my favourite Pan Mee stall, the best so far, I've tried (Jess, the 老母 of Joel couldn't agree more to that! ^0^). The texture of the Pan Mee is just nice, crunchy and right, not like some stalls, when you are eating it, you feel like you are chewing rubber in your mouth. @_@"

Then the gravy, mixture of soy sauce, shredded pork, "dog vege", spring onion, ikan bilis, with fried small red onions... WAH!!! think only I drool! wooOOOTTTT!!! ^0^

I used to order a RM5 Dry Pan Mee, which is not on the menu. LOL~

Pork Noodle 三间庄猪肉丸粉

This is the famous Pork Noodle Chain-stall, I believed it's a branched out from this old kopitiam (forgot name... -_-") at PJ State. You can find it at most townships within Klang Valley, such as SS2, Lucky Garden, S17, TTDI, etc... They even have a Koptiam Concept shop (air-con, nice interior, etc) at Lucky Garden (same row as, Chun Heong, next to Alliance Bank).

My Thoughts
It's very wise of the owner, to market their business as Chain-Stall, to expand the business. They serve the same noodles, same meatballs, same gravy... pratically identical, however, they don't taste the same. There are no consistency in the quality. Only a few stalls I prefered, i.e. the stall at Lucky at Section 17, the Concept Store at Lucky Garden, and of course, the original shop at PJ State.

They do not have a very mature duplication system, perhaps the owner would like to check out this book Copycat Marketing 101: How to Copycat Your Way to Wealth, to understand more.

GANBATTE NE!!!

^0^

Facts:
Kedai Kopi dan Makanan Chun Heong 全香茶餐室 has the most Hakka stall operators, I've ever been to any Kopitiam in Klang Valley.

LOL~ and I feel HOME.

Facts:
When I was staying in Bangsar many years ago, this is where I had my dinner every night. Therefore, I'm very grateful to this shop, without them, I would have died from fast food in Bangsar. >_<

This shop also have another name refer and known to friends around me - Hill of Siu Keong 小強山. You probably wonder why? Afterall, Siu Keong 小強 is refering to cockroach. Well, many years ago, when I was staying in Bangsar. A very generous+kind colleague of mine - Jess T (who always offer me a ride to buy dinner), before she drives home, gave me a ride again.

While we were waiting for my dinner in the car, suddenly we realised some activities going on, on the little slope in front of us. And Jess T turn on the head lights, only to witness the most incredible natural phenomena ever in our lifetime. There were thousands of Siu Keongs partying on that small hill. Literally the entire hill was like moving. NO KIDDING!!!

I didn't make this up... IT'S REAL!!! (I wished I had a digital camera back then.) Pleaes ask Jess T next time you see her?
^0^

I believed that happened due to the climate/weather, after all, insects or animals have a better senses to the nature. I'm not sure what did they sense, however, it's definitely not a rave party back there.

Ever since that incident, this place is known to me and my friends as Hill of Siu Keong 小強山.

Little Wok 生記 @ How Ye Kee, Section 17

Little Wok 生記 is the main "kitchen" at Restaurant How Ye Kee, i.e. they serve Chinese a lar carte or "big fry". Their business starts from lunch til late dinner time. However, there's a break between 2.30pm to 5pm.

Little Wok 生記

My thoughts:
They have quite a variety of food on their menu. I probably need to cover them in 3-5 articles, because they are delicious!!!

So these were what we had for dinner:

Dish: Salted Fish with Pork Rice 鹹魚豬肉飯
Price: RM 4.50

Dish: Marmite Pork Rice 瑪蜜豬肉飯
Price: RM 4.50

Normally, we'll go for an extra egg.

Fried Eggs

one of the best drink in the world - Coca~Cola.

Facts:
Besides famous for their delicious+wide varieties, they are also well known for their fast cooking skills! There's one time, mob ordered his regular dish upon our arrival. While we were still deciding, his food arrived - fresh+hot!!! LOL~ no kidding!

"Seeing is Believing..."

Kampar Noodle 金寶粉@ How Ye Kee 好義記, Section 17

I went out for lunch pretty late today, around 3pm. And at that hour, it's very difficult to find food.

However, I just know the right place to go - Restoran How Ye Kee.

Restoran How Ye Kee

When I arrived, most of the stalls are cleaning up, thank goodness, Kampar Noodle is still available.

Kampar Noodle Stall

My thoughts:
Well, Kampar Noodle is the type you get to mix and match your food. Just walk to the stall, greet the uncle and aunty. Choose your items, leave the bowl there, tell uncle how do you like your noodle:
a) soup;
b) dry;
c) dried with curry gravy;

For today's lunch, I had:

Dish: Kampar Meehoon (dry) with 6 items
Price: RM 6.40

Facts:
Other then Kampar Noodle, you can try the wantan noodle, chicken rice & the popular "big fried" which is famous for their fast wok (available from lunch til dinner).
