Wildchild's gathering+Lee San's Birthday

Wildchild attended a Senior's (from her secondary school) wedding dinner over the weekend (I wasn't invited... phew~). After that, we all went to Wong Kok at SS2 to meet and catch up with some of her secondary schoolmates. 'cos leesan (her high school friend) and Tim (leesan's man) were in town (from SG).

And it was leesan's birthday too. ^0^

Anyway, we were the 1st to reach. Wildchild had made reservation earlier, and kind enough, Wong Kok gave us the "chill out" area.



Since it's leesan's birthday, I ordered the "Wong Kok Birthday Special" for her. When the "special" arrived, both leesan and Tim were shock! LOL~



It's always nice to attend a school gathering (even though, it's not mine). Listening to old time stories. LOL~

Restoran Hoppy 好比 @ SS2

Restoran Hoppy 好比 is quite a well-known shop at SS2, due to it's famous landmark -

Hoppy 好比 the giant duck - a well known landmark in SS2.

However, please do not judge Restoran Hoppy 好比, by it's bold marketing act. This shop actually serves good food.

My thoughts:
Beside single person meal or a lar carte, there are a few variety of Set Meals on the menu, catering for small, medium and larger crowd.

For us, we had Set A for lunch, over the weekend, just nice for 2 person.



Set A is actually cater for 2-3 persons. And it comes with 1 portion of duck, 1 portion of chicken, 1 plate of vege, 1 bowl of soup, 1 plate of minced meat tofu, and 2-3 rice.

Facts:
I'm more of a chicken person than duck. However, Hoppy 好比's duck is really delicious. One of my favourite place to eat duck. The duck is marinated with Chinese herbs, and it tastes and smells good (if u like Chinese herbs). I can just order 1 bowl of the duck gravy, and go with 5 bowls of rice.

My thoughts:
Wong Kok Char Chan Teng offers a variety of nice, delicious & colourful menu. 200 over drinks, desserts, snacks, main courses, etc... It'll take me probably 200 times, which each time covering 1 item, before I can cover completely of the entire Wong Kok Char Chan Teng menu.

Not to mention, they'll have promotional dishes each month...

The SS2 branch has just extened the shop recently. It seems like they took over the pub next door.

I also found out that, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng is offering a lifetime membership with only RM10.

With this membership, members get enjoy 10% off on everyting. At the same time, members get to collect and earn points too. With every RM1 spent, you earn 1 reward point. Current rewards redemption is available only in cash vouchers form, there'll be more gifts/rewards coming in near future.

Swensen @ SS2

Swensen is a colourful, vibrant, & sweet restaurant. Regardless who visits the place, (i.e. an adult, a couples, or kids...), and they always come out with a happy face!

The food & beverages here are ok, 'cos that's not their main business. Normally, people go there for the ice-cream, and it's also a nice place to chill out too (NO ALCHOHOL for me).

Sushi Tomo had gain some recognition since it started business a while back.

The owner is a Korean, however, I think the wife is a Japanese. Very unique duo (if you know what I mean)! ^0^

Facts:
I believed Sushi Tomo is the 1st Sushi restaurant, introduced "touch-screen" menu in Klang Valley... pretty cool!

According to my buddy - Seth.Frost, many of his gal frens, like his GF and my GF... likes to go Sushi Tomo, besides the nice Sushi there... another reason is to check out this chef - a young good looking lad (-_-"), with talented skills in japanese cuisine. We believed he's the owner's son (but again we could be wrong).

To be honest, I stopped going there for awhile, as the last visit, he wasn't there, and the food quality dropped. We thought that's it. However, recently Seth.Frost went, and ensured us that the food is still nice. Perhaps the "hensumu"* chef wasn't around. hehehehehe~

Korean House @ SS2

Restoran Korean House is a new Korean BBQ restaurant, opend recently at SS2.

The shop previously was a Chinese restaurant named - Fusan. It's located near the SS2 Police Station. Next to it, is the "Teo Chew Poridge House", same row as the well-known Tea Pot Cafe.

My thoughs:
Authentic Korean food, with excellent hospitality, and price is consider reasonable for Korean BBQ dinner. A good choice for a small group of friends. We had a lovely+wonderful dinner!

The BBQ meats are KILLER!!! Very well marinated, fresh and tender, and nice portion.



Facts:
For some reason... Korean rice is damn bloody expensive. I don't kno why? anyone can enlighten me? o.O?
