January 2008 Time : 1100hrs - 1700hrs; Date : Saturday, 19th January 2008; Battleground :Hartz Chicken Buffet, Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway; Status:Great Success!!!;
My Thoughts It's certainly great to meet some new faces. Welcome and wish you guys will come again for the next gathering. Hope the attendance will be maintained or improved.
Thank you guys, for making this another successful gathering!
There's rumour saying, a new PWNING donut shop is in town, a very very long "S" que always sighted at there outlets, it's - J.Co Donuts & Coffee. The latest Indonesia donuts chain store in Malaysia.
After dinner on Friday night, LµÇkÿ $†àŘ, Wildchild and myself went jalan-jalan at New Wing, Sunway Pyramid. And we witnessed the "rumoured" que... and it wasn't rumour, it's real. Being a typical Malaysian, we went and join the wagon.
Nice interior setup, interesting operations for a donut shop (not that I'm an expert in donutology). I was snapping non-stop til 1 sales attendant stopped me.
Anyway, they offer various flavoured of donuts, we bought 6, but managed only to try 3, 'cos we were to greedy & full!!!
I managed to photographed these extras, thanks to a friend - Ling., who bought a dozen for her family on another day.
Courtesy Donuts from Ling.
Managed to find a spot for ourselves, sit down, we were kinda puzzle, how to start/eat, 'cos these donuts are covered with toppings... and the following are the experience of our FIRST ENCOUNTER...
Facts: For some reasons, all my friends that have tried J.Co, we all agreed & shared a common experience... all of us encountered the same feeling from the first bite - IT'S LOVE AT FIRST BITE!
I don't know about others, perhaps you can try and share your experience with others too...
When Hartz first opened at Sunway Pyramid, me and my college mates used to storm the place once a week. We were actually sort of "black-listed" by the store, as we really cleaned up the place.
LOL~ But we got sicked and tired of the food later, and I've stopped going there for years, until recently we had our DS Gathering there... and it's back in the picture.
It used to be located above the ice skating ring. Currently moved to LG, near the new phase, with new and nice interior set up.
There are a few rules: 01) You pay first - around RM19++; 02) Each customer is limited to 2 hours stay;
Upon paying, you'll be given a piece of regulations, printed with all the house rules.
My Thoughts To be honest, I find the food just OK only, however, it easily PWN any fast food chain out there, any time, who claim themselves to be Chicken experts. More over, with RM19++, you get to "all you can eat" Buffet.
November 2007 Time : 1100hrs - 1700hrs; Date : Saturday, 24th November 2007; Battleground :Hartz Chicken Buffet, Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway; Status:Great Success!!!;

Games Played DS • Mario Kart DS; • Mario Party DS; • Contra 4 DS;
Arcade • Mario Kart GP Arcade; • Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ; • House of Dead 2 & 3;
My Thoughts Another successful gathering! We all had fun eatinig and gaming.
We had fun at the arcade too, especially playing Hyper: Bishi Bashi Champ. Good news!!! The price per game for Mario Kart GP Arcade has reduced from 2 Tokens to 1 Token now. However, I was quite disappointed with the arcade's maintenance... it's so typical for MY Arcade operator to offer faulty gaming machines to customers. Next time before you insert any tokens/coins, please check the conditions (at least the physcial parts), as we got "conned" for playing House of Dead 2 & 3, as both machines came with spoiled guns.
I DID IT AGAIN!!! My record for this run is 1Hr48Mins for 10KM. I'm sure I can do better next time, if I train hard enough~lah.
Anyway, I was there not to run... but to take pictures. LOL~
and here's the story.
- - - - - - -
I got up at 0445hrs, reached Rodney's place by 0545hrs. Then Jack came. About 0615hrs, WaiOnn's came with his usual just woke up winding mood (LOL~ chill, buddy!). We all hoped on to his car and headed to Sunway.
Finally reached Sunway around 0630hrs, we were told roads were closed, so we parked at the residential area and walked. Got our offical jersey from Mel (and thanks for looking after for everyone's bags).
T Minus 5mins, before the race...
The 21KM race started at 0645hrs, we went in after that. There were so many people there, and yet I manage to bump into zorocaster. What a conincident. LOL~
At 0700hrs, the 10KM race horn goes off, and here we go...
at 1KM
Due to lack of training, after 10mins, my engine died off... LOL~ and I proceed with my primary objective - i.e. document down this journey.
at 2KM
After about 30 mins the race started (for 10KM), people were shouting and cheering, 2 African runners were returning. THIS IS MADNESS!!! LOL~ They are real running machines! GO!GO!GO!
at 3KM
It's sunrise, it was so beautiful, I stopped and snap it. Then I spotted zorocaster returning... WTH?!?!? THIS IS ANOTHER MADNESS!!! LOL~ Well done, zoro!
at 5KM
One uncle, out of no where, got on to the track and running with the rest of the participants. He was carrying 2 huge bags summore. REAL CHAMPION... LOL~
at 6KM
at 8KM
at 9KM
There was an incident right before 9KM ended. I'm not sure what's going on exactly. A car stopped by, one huge Indian man stepped out the car, started talking to a young police officer, while the driver remained inside. The next thing, the officer stepped back, unbuttoned his holster, ask the fella to stay put with a warning. The guy didn't listen and looked a bit hostile, immediately, the officer radioed out "Bantuan! Bantuan!" (Assistance! Assistance!).
Two officers came over from the other lane. The young officer was shouting "Tangkap dia! Tangkap dia!" (Arrest him! Arrest him!). The big Indian guy went back inside the car, and they went off.
What a drama! phew~

Finish line
After crossing the finish line, everyone went to que up for drinks - Milo Ais & 100Plus. The crowds were quite discipline and polite, til some noobs, cut ques. Some even worse, walked straight right to the counter, ignored everyone, grabbed and walked off. SHAME ON YOU, UNCLES!!! Yes, there were a few rude senior participants.
I didn't complete the race within 50mins, i.e the qualifying time, therefore no medal for me. But it's ok, it was a well organised event, me and my friends had fun!
GOOD JOB, organisers! Thank YOU, GOD for providing a nice weather for us. Thank you, Mo for collecting the jerseys for everyone. Thank you, WaiOnn for the ride. Thank you, Mel for looking after everyone's bags. Thank you, everyone for this fun+good run!
OH! I nearly forgot, there were some rewards/harvest for me after all: 01) a good+nice adidas runny jersey - cost RM59.90 (got it for RM15, comes with the registrations); 02) a good old traditional thai foot massage;
^0^
