Hartz Chicken Buffet

When Hartz first opened at Sunway Pyramid, me and my college mates used to storm the place once a week. We were actually sort of "black-listed" by the store, as we really cleaned up the place.

LOL~ But we got sicked and tired of the food later, and I've stopped going there for years, until recently we had our DS Gathering there... and it's back in the picture.

It used to be located above the ice skating ring. Currently moved to LG, near the new phase, with new and nice interior set up.

There are a few rules:
01) You pay first - around RM19++;
02) Each customer is limited to 2 hours stay;

Upon paying, you'll be given a piece of regulations, printed with all the house rules.













My Thoughts
To be honest, I find the food just OK only, however, it easily PWN any fast food chain out there, any time, who claim themselves to be Chicken experts. More over, with RM19++, you get to "all you can eat" Buffet.

My Thoughts
Another successful gathering! We all had fun eatinig and gaming.

We had fun at the arcade too, especially playing Hyper: Bishi Bashi Champ. Good news!!! The price per game for Mario Kart GP Arcade has reduced from 2 Tokens to 1 Token now. However, I was quite disappointed with the arcade's maintenance... it's so typical for MY Arcade operator to offer faulty gaming machines to customers. Next time before you insert any tokens/coins, please check the conditions (at least the physcial parts), as we got "conned" for playing House of Dead 2 & 3, as both machines came with spoiled guns.

Kana Curry House @ Sec 17

Kana Curry House, I'm sure many people in PJ, have heard of this famous banana leaf rice restaurant at Section 17. Anyway...

For today's lunch, we had:



Dish: Kana Curry House's Banana Leaf Rice+Fried Chicken
Price: RM 12++

My thoughs:
Generally, I find Kana's food & drinks are nice, above lotsa Indian or banana leaf rice restaurants.

However, the best banana leaf rice for me, will still be Nirvana Restaurant at Bangsar. I'll blog about that another time... LOL~

Facts:
The best drink to go with banana leaf rice is nothing else, but a nice glass of Teh-O Ais Limau


Teh-O Ais Limau (iced chilled tea with lime)

Beside serving banana leaf rice, they also have the usual Mamak food, such as:

• Rendang, like beef, chicken or mutton;


• Fried stuffs, like chicken, fish, sotong (squid);


• snacks, like pisang goreng, vade, malay kuih, etc


• thosai, chapati, roti canai


• Maggi goreng

However, most of these food, will only available after 3pm onwards.

Chicken Rice @ Nam Heong

One hot afternoon, we happened to be in SS2, PJ. We were having difficulties finding a place to park (HA! what's new in SS2), the moment we found one, we were half baked. Immediately, we tried to look for an air-con restaurant. And we found a restaurant we haven't visited for years - Nam Heong.

We went in and we saw this Set Lunch


RM7.90++ set lunch comes with - single portion chicken with rice, and double boiled soup

For today's lunch, we had:

My thoughs:
Nam Heong's chicken rice has always been one of my favourite authentic chicken rice shop. I haven't been dinning there for a number of years, yet they still maintain the quality.

Facts:
Nam Heong is now under The Esquire Kitchen. They have branches all over PJ and KL.

Chicken Rice @ Lucky

Kedai Kopi Lucky@Section 17, is the type of kopitiam, where it's operated by 2 different tenants, i.e. day and night.

During day time, you get to choose variety of food from many hawker stalls; night time, one "Big Fry" stall, i.e. chinese à la Carte.

It's located just directly across the open car park from Restoran Say Huat.



For today's lunch, we had:


Dish: Roast Chicken Rice
Price: RM 3.50


Dish: Pork MeeHoon Soup
Price: RM 3.00

My thoughs:
Kedai Kopi Lucky got lots of nice food. They have chicken rice, char siew rice (BBQ pork), siew yuk (roast pork) rice, pork noodle, pork ball noodle, wan tan mee, curry mee, etc

My favourite is Roast Chicken Rice (which is the from main tenant). Their roast chicken is nicely roasted, with the semi-crispy skin attached to the white meat.

As for Pork MeeHoon Soup... I shall write about it another day. 'cos I preferred the dry version, not soup. Someone forced me to photograph the soup and post here... -_-"

Facts:
This couple is the Chicken Rice Stall owners.


The uncle and the aunty are nice people, however they have a unique way to communicate with each other/customers, especially when they are coordinating customers' orders.

The uncle will always be polite to all his customers, on the other end, the aunty will scold everyone (including the customers) when she's stressed. LOL~

but regulars will not be offended, 'cos we are used with it.
