COWABANGA! TURTLE POWER!!!

I attended a seminar on Friday (24 August 2007) - MSC Malaysia Creative Multimedia Lecture Series #8, by MDEC and Elemental Ventures Sdn Bhd.

There were 2 sessions in this seminar. First one was by
Kevin Eastman - the creator of TMNT.



He was sharing about his experience in the industry:
"From Sketch to Screen: The TMNT & Heavy Metal experience".

some of the slides, Kevin sharing how he and Peter transformed from their ideas from sketches and become real life characters

There was a 10 min break, I manged to see Kevin up close & personal, and took a picture of him. AWESOME!!!

Second half of the seminar, was presented by Joe Pearson - President of Epoch Ink Animation.


He was sharing the business experience & challenges, from the creative point of view. How globalisations had affected the world, and how & why we shouldn't and couldn't ignore it.

I say I had a good time attending this seminar.

My Thoughts
Had the opportunity to listen 1st hand experience from real gurus are inspiring.

This isn't just a seminar, but also a signing ceremony between MDEC & 20 over local and overseas creative content agency (such as animation studios, distributors, film makers, post house, etc).

This is a good sign, marking a new start and era for the creative industry in Malaysia.

Our government believes that creative content will be a new economy, that will generate new income & new opportunities for us. And currently making effort to educate, invest and pushing for this area.

I hope this will be a success (not just talk~talk~talk only), because it really looks promising in Malaysia, with the gurus and pioneers from the states to lead & guide our talents here.

• Presenting "Profiles" - now "Profiles" is part of the evidence that you can present/to support your investigations/examinations;

My Thoughts
The story doesn't really link back to the first title, in terms of story development, perhaps a few old main characters that from the previous title. Generally I would say, it's still ok, for you to start/play with GS / PW 2.

Good stories, same old good illustrations.

Difinitely, another "MOST STUCKED" DS Game for you.

My thoughts 我的感言:
Even though this might be just how the film makers, visualised/pictured how the Mayan Civilisation was 1,000 years ago. Because no one actually lived to see/tell how it was like.

However, I must say, the team did a brilliant job! You can see they did their homework, major reseach were involved. The team managed to illustrate the lives, cultures, costumes, architectures, language (even I don't know any Mayan language), etc, in details, reflecting how it was like back in those days.

The movie is so realistic, adrenaline pumping to the max, beautiful, eye-opening and brutal.

Doraemon - Gashapon

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 押忍！闘え！応援団

Someone's life in town has just turned disaster. When they cry out "OUENNNNDANNNNN!", a trio of uniformed "motivational soldiers" or "cheer squad", a.k.a. "Ouendan" will show up (out of nowhere) in response to the problems and bring peace to the world.


Gameplay
It's a rhythmic game, where you play along with the music (i.e. featured song), try to complete the game without any mistakes and getting PERFECT score in every level/story by:

• tapping the "Hit Markers";


• sometimes slide to the "Phrase Markers";


• do the final spin on the "Roll Markers";

Each level is featured with one J-Pop hits, and different problem/crisis. All the problems are presented in a funny & hillarious way, manga style comic strip.

You can also link up to 4 players in multiplayer game, in either Versus or Co-Op mode.


Features
The music featured in Ouendan are mainly popular J-Pop Hits from 1990s to 2000s. Pretty nice & cool songs.

Unbelievable fun, hillarious, challenging & addictive. Not to mention, a list of nice J-Pop songs to listen to.

Wildchild's gathering+Lee San's Birthday

Wildchild attended a Senior's (from her secondary school) wedding dinner over the weekend (I wasn't invited... phew~). After that, we all went to Wong Kok at SS2 to meet and catch up with some of her secondary schoolmates. 'cos leesan (her high school friend) and Tim (leesan's man) were in town (from SG).

And it was leesan's birthday too. ^0^

Anyway, we were the 1st to reach. Wildchild had made reservation earlier, and kind enough, Wong Kok gave us the "chill out" area.



Since it's leesan's birthday, I ordered the "Wong Kok Birthday Special" for her. When the "special" arrived, both leesan and Tim were shock! LOL~



It's always nice to attend a school gathering (even though, it's not mine). Listening to old time stories. LOL~
